Mooserboden

Another big attraction of the High Tauern are the Mooserboden and Waserfallboden dams. This was my second attempt to visit and it was not very successful, but I can say that I was here.

Directions to the dam:

You arrive at the approximately 10-storey car park (47.2172425N, 12.7257692E), then walk to buy a joint ticket for the bus and cable car (47.2159439N, 12.7260219E), then wait for the bus to take you to the cable car, or rather the cable car platform, which will take you to the next bus, which you board and finally reach the dam. The whole thing takes about three quarters of an hour, and it's the same other way round.

As well as the beautiful views, there are also several shorter ferratas of varying difficulty that take you up to the top of the Höhenburg, where there are beautiful views of both dams. Unfortunately, in our case it was not only raining, but there was a decent storm and we didn't want to risk climbing the rock. The weather doesn't always work out as planned.
