Krimml Waterfalls
Elevation: 450m / Lenght: 8km / Time: 3h
Visit rate: 5/5 / Rating: 3/5
Probably the most famous waterfalls in Central Europe. Thanks to the heavy rains at the time of our visit in Austria, the power of the water was really unreal. The cascade consists of 3 waterfalls, with the lower one being subjectively the best of the bunch, judge for yourself.
You can go around the waterfalls on the hiking trail and unexpectedly they are a much visited tourist destination. There are several viewpoints of the falls along the way, and at almost every one you'll stop and take a photo that you'll never look at again. I would see this as more of a quick 2 hour stop than a day trip.
For me the best part of the whole trip were the local cows, one almost bit David's "ass". Yeah, these girls never disappoint. One more thing, I have a feeling that if you go to the cascade from the other side of the river, you don't have to pay the entrance fee, but you'll definitely get a little more mileage. Risk is gain or not.
