The area around the Predistihgul peak (1278m) is quite famous for climbing, ferratas, hiking and cycling. I'm not a climber, so I can't tell you much about climbing on the local walls, but I climbed 2 of the 4 better known ferratas of C difficulty and I enjoyed it very much.

Leadership Klettersteig - C

I chose it as a quick afternoon climb that you can do in an hour. The ascent route is a bit lost in the woods, but follow the arrows on the trees to get to the start. The ferrata will lead you directly to the top of Predistighul, where you will see absolutely perfect views of the Hallstätersee and the Salzkammergut.

The most interesting section is about halfway up, where you have to climb up the inside of the rock, it was a bit scary for me, but it could be climbed without any problem, immediately after that comes the most challenging section, where again it's more about fear than physical strength. You take one challenging step and you're more or less done.

You can also get to the top by hiking trail, there's always a way around it. You can spend a couple of hours here or a whole day depending on your taste, the possibilities are endless. There are many bike trail signs in the forest and I like that a lot too! It's more of a natural ride and the trails are mostly marked as for walking and bikes, so respect...

Ferrata Höhenweg-Klettersteig (Ewige Wand) - C

will give you a hard time in terms of vertigo. This is a very short ten minute scramble on a completely perpendicular rock. I had to stifle my inner fear quite a lot, but soon I was up and feeling like having another go.
