Lago di Sorapis is perhaps the most turquoise lake you will ever see in your life. I'm not exaggerating, it's really disgustingly turquoise. Are you afraid of heights? Then I wouldn't recommend this hike, the journey is quite "dizzying" but the hike itself is not physically demanding, that is if your journey ends at the lake.
Because if you don't want to go back the same way, you have to hike up the pass almost to the top of Punta Nera (2847m), and that's a solid hike in early June that will definitely give you a physical workout, but it's definitely worth it. I don't think I've ever had such awe and amazement at the gigantic size and shapes of the surrounding mountains anywhere else. I was like a little ant in a huge stone desert. Reality has nothing to do with the photo at all.
The view from the top of the pass was equally breathtaking, I saw the Dolomites in almost all their glory and after a half hour rest, I headed back to the parking lot, it was long, it was challenging, it was beautiful.
