Monte Baldo (2218m)

It is the most famous peak around Lake Garda. Wherever you are on the lakeshore, you'll never miss this peak. While down below you can surf or swim in the lake, up above there may still be remnants of snow.

It's not a challenging route, it's a nice ridge within a few hundred metres thanks to the cable car from Malcesine that takes you up to 1760m. We were bothered by a large number of insects all the way, and couldn't get rid of them, but it didn't deter us.

What did deter us was the dust haze from the Sahara which brought tropical temperatures and very poor visibility. Going all the way to the top of Monte Baldo made little sense for us, so our journey ended at the top of Cima delle Pozzette (2132m). The views here were just as good and this was also our main goal.
