The first climbed "ferrata" of my life was Via ferrata Giovanni Barbara at the Rio di Fanes. But among other things, and perhaps the main attraction for most, are the local cascades of waterfalls with the general name Cascate di Fanes, of which there are about eight over a distance of about two kilometres. On a hot summer's day in the Italian Dolomites, this river is a great place to cool off. Careful, it's really very icy.

If you are looking for waterfalls that you can go around from the inside, there are two of them, but they are short ferratas of difficulty A. I personally went through them without belaying, but I do not recommend it to anyone, it is dangerous.

I would say that these are the most beautiful cascading waterfalls in the Dolomites. I definitely recommend everyone to go to this place in nice warm weather. You can have a nice ice shower at the longest local waterfall and it's well worth it.
