Pedra Longa
Time: 1h / Visit rate: 3/5 / Rating: 3/5
A short, but very nice stop at the coast that deserves its own article. Pedra Longa is the name of a rock formation that is especially famous among climbers. But the coastline offers spectacular views, especially at sunset.
There is also a restaurant, which is closed in the low season, like everything else in Sardinia. The famous hiking trail called Selvaggio Blu, which stretches along the Baunei coast, starts here. In order to follow this route, you must register for a fee at the Baunei office. This route can therefore only be walked with an experienced guide and also includes climbing passages. In its full length, it is a hike of several days. We walked just a few metres past the no-entry sign, which is quite easy to miss by the way, and took a few photos. I hope that didn't kill anyone.
You can also stay on the local beach, which is quite rocky, at least on the southern part. From there you have the best view of Pedra Longa as such and I must also add that this rock is much bigger than it looks in the photos, but that's the rule.
